A Guide to making friends.. or is there 1?
How do we make friends?
Options:
1) just be yourself
but not everyone can accept who u really are. They wil slowly find faults with u and then, u start to morph to someone that u don’t recognize.
2) be what others want u to be
u’ll come across pretentious, hypocritical in the long run. Do u want to be like that? Being controlled by society. We are already living so rigidly because the world is made up of people and now we live so as to satisfy others. Isn’t it tiring? Why do we study? So as to be able to fit into the working world. Why do we work? So as to boast the economy. Stop and think.. do we really need to work that hard for survival? We just need the basic air, food, water and shelter. Instead, we are working for the best of the best. We want a grade higher for each of these necessities.
3) a balance between the real u and reel u?
can we really do that balance? Put on a different mask each time. Again the issue arises… do we lice for others or ourselves. When we go hungry, others don’t feed us, do they? But when we strike it rich, people come flocking to u. y are we hiding?
4) be the clown
best way to start a friendship going. People love hanging out with u becox u are comfortable to be with. U take things lightly but u not necessarily take things for granted. U joke around but still taking others feelings in consideration. But would such relationship last? Already the power balance tilts to one way. Respect would be lost. Would people be laughing at u or at the jokes u cracked? Would u grow tired of being taken for granted and that no one is ever taking u seriously. Could u ever lose your temper and not come across petty? Are u stereotyped? Could u out-grow that label? Would u be tired of being the butt of all jokes? Would others feel for u and treat u sensitively? Could u ever wear your heart on the sleeves and confide in others?
5) be yourself and be oblivious
no man is an island. That’s what I believe. I cant imagine myself as an outcast and go for meals without anyone accompanying me. I hate being alone and doing things alone.
ANS: I DON’T KNOW!! No answer is totally correct or wrong. Just penning down my thoughts.
How then can we have close friends? How do we define friends? These questions, I cant really answer in full confidence. However, I feel as long as the trust between friends is not broken, the friendship can last forever.
