things that tickled me today
ok.. a couple of stuff tickled me today.. it all started when i stepped out of my home and started to go off to work. one may wonder whats there to be happy when u hav to go to work on a SUNDAY!! well, obviously, i am NOT HAPPY abt having to work on a weekend... but its part of my job and now with the GE, i have more to do. but i managed to find somethings that made my day..
joke 1---the election lorry..
its the 3rd day of elections. and now, with the long weekend (Sat, Sun, Mon; labour day) goin on, the campaigning is going on even fiercely. so its common to see those propaganda vans or lorries driving around the estates, carrying their banners and posters and the play back of the 'vote for me' speeches in 4 different languages!!
so was waiting for my bus at the bus-stop.. (as usual.. i can only take bus to anywhere, i hav no MRT!! hmm.. mayb should raise it up to the candidates around my area.)then.. walaa.. i heard the sound of the election vehicle... it was a PAP lorry!! in it were a group of people waving and cheering on their candidates. I WAS THE ONLY ONE AT THE BUS STOP today.. so when they faced my side, the started to look at me, point-blank, and waved and cheered at me.. gosh.. i was stunned!! we had eye-contact for at least 5-6 mins.. then i started to break into a smile. i couldnt control my laughter actually.. cox i found it so funny.. they were waving at me.. urging me to wave back at them.. but, dont know y... i just couldnt.. i was rooted to the seat and was like injected with 'smiling' gas. gosh.. was trying very hard to contain myself and look natural.. not to insult them or to make myself look dumb too.. only when they were clearly out of sight then i started to openly laugh.. too funny.. the whole thing..
joke 2---the sitting gal
after the lorry had left, a gal made here way to the bus stop.. so at the bus stop, there was now 2 of us. i was still wearing a wide grin across my face. so the best distracter was--HANDPHONE!! just use it when u need to hide a laugh or feel sad.. everyone would think that u were affected by some msg or a phone call.. i'll rather let them have such thoughts then to let them think i'm nuts for laughing or crying out of 'nothing'.
the gal was on her phone.. then when her bus came, guess how she flagged for her bus??!! she was well seated on the seat, crossed-legged, instead of standing up and then raising your hand to flag for the bus.. she merely sat down and then waved her wrist... the bus driver, momentarily paused for a while when he saw that unorthodox motion. but that gal.. she was 'rotating' that wrist to 'flag' for the bus.. i was still trying to come to grasp with the earlier incident.. and now this.. waaahahaha... is she seriously thinks she can get a bus in this manner?!! i just turned my head the other direction and laughed!!
joke 3--the handphone ringtone
in a short span of time.. i am already in a very good mood. but this one takes the cake.. ultimate!! i can guess that many of u mus be thinkin this is some stupid ringtone as usual.. wats new??!! nowadays, people are very creative with their ringtones.. so to happen to hear one dumb one aint surprising.. trust me.. when it can catch my attention.. i think its a good one..
the bus was quiet, except for the occasional beeping sound of the bus cards. i was feeling drowsy.. the journey to my workplace is a long and dreary one. i was dozing off.. then suddenly.. i heard a sound that surprised me.. and i was very sure the rest of the commuters as well.. but i kept my cool.. mayb its my imagination... then i heard it again.. then the 3rd time.. i couldnt help but to turn my head in that direction and scouting the floor, the bags, with question marks written all over my face. then the uncle.. i could see him chuckling.. picked up his phone.. good one uncle.. that was funny!! so wat was the ring tone? ans: a cat's meow.. IT WAS SO REAL.. gosh.. i seriously thought someone actually smuggled a kitten up the bus.. even the bus-driver slowed down the speed to listen out to the cat meowing.. if the uncle didnt pick up the phone and continued to let it meow, i am sure the driver would stop the bus and do a full check on the passengers!!
i am laughing at people??!!.. NO.. i am laughing at the situation.. so i am not evil.. and no.. there shouldnt be any retribution.... hmmmm..
