on the fateful morning of 20/6/2007, i woke up early for my usual weekend practise. I didnt bathe the day b4 as i was really tired. i got back at 1am due to an event and also i knew that i would have to wake up early the next morning and bathe anyway. so why bathe now? will bathe the next day. cox if i was to bath, i would have to wait for my hair to dry even forcefully drying it (hairdryer), will also take time. so.. ZZZZZZZZZZ...

in my zombified state, i went to the bathroom after breakfast for my wash ups. Switched on the taps.. a weird bobbling sound, no water.. hmmmm... Thought i was still in the sleeping stage, so i tried again.. now i am panicking.. NO WATER!! shouted for my maid which in process woke my dad up too... got word from my maid that due to the road works outside my house, the water supply had been switched off to prevent a water sprout at the road!! WHAT!!

Being desperate and pressed for time; i hate it when things affect my time for shooting; i went to the kitchen and saw the flask filled with water. well, i used that amount of water to bathe.. how primitive can i be rite!! so for friends who were me out that day.. i didnt smell too bad rite??!! dont tell me.. lie to me..

One of the skills i have learnt while schooling and am definitely putting it to good use is---PLAYING TRUANT!!

The thing about being in the civil service sector, ok, I must stress that I am in the statutory board; pseudo-government board, is that we have to go for training during office hours. Look at how I stress the word office hours.. haha.. You are paid to attend courses and it is a must to clock those hours and those courses are paid by the company! The hours clocked varies across the various boards. For my side, we have to clock 100 hours within a financial year, March XX to April XX.

There’s no commitment level at all to attend such courses. There is no passing grade that you must get for ever course u are attending. At least, so far, I haven’t gone for one that requires me to do a real test yet. I just have to make sure I know how to use the information taught during the classes when back at office. There are courses that really require our attention eg new computer upgrades etc. but really, DO I CARE??!! What is required is for you to sign in your attendance to justify that you had actually attended the class.

Hmmm… so for folks out there who knows me would know what I do when I am going for such courses rite? Need I put it so bluntly (it’s in the first opening line already!)? Let me instead give u a guide on how I do it.

Tip 1:
Go in either very early for class or just late for the first period of the class.
Reason:
When u are early, u can be the wall print. U don’t get so much attention when u start coming in late from the class and especially the lecturer.
One thing abt being early or punctual for class is that there would always be an ice-breaker session. This is when everyone will have to do a self intro.. and guess what, I don’t want people to know me. Cox I intend to sign and run off and I don’t want people or rather the lecturer to know my name and which office I come from. They may know that I am gone but at least they don’t know who I am. Its like wanna complain also cannot find who is it to complain about. Hahhaa…

Tip 2:
Make sure the lecturer is a guest lecturer
Reason:
If it’s a PA staff; the in-house lecturers; I am so screwed… 1. is cox they know our tricks, come on its like u are a thief, wont it be easier for you to trace out the thief tracks rather than a normal passer-by? 2. Many of them know me!! Due to the number of ad hoc projects that I had to do, my face’s pretty much splashed around PA. I am easily recognisable. $%^&*

Tip 3:
Attendance taking is only done once.
Reason:
You have to sign for your attendance, normally once and during the first half of the day. There are some (refer to Tip 2) who make u sign for every breaks taken for the lesson. Which sucks!! Imagining to sign 4 times, eg, 1 in the morning, 1 after morning tea break, 1 after lunch, 1 after afternoon tea break. Just sign once and run..

Tip 4:
Have either no friends or close friends in the class.
Reason:
Having no friends makes it easier for u to disappear without a trace. Having close friends means, someone will be covering for u if anything happens. But there are ways to counter this (refer to Tip 1).

Tip 5:
Try not to go for classes with your bosses or subordinates
Reason:
With bosses, do I need to say more??!! If u really need to leave, then come clean.. cox that’s wat I do and to take it a step higher.. I try to influence them to leave too.. haha..
With subordinates, erm.. bad influence??!!

Tip 6:
Pray that there are no certificates given out; certificate on completion of the course etc.
Reason:
Cox when your cert is not collected, you name’s staring hard at the lecturer. And they will be going through the sign out forms which obviously, I didn’t sign those forms. Cox these forms will be submitted to your bosses for approval and verification for authenticity. Haha.. how to counter this, make sure u have friends in the class to help collect for u (refer to Tip 4).

Tip 7:
When all else fails, just attend the class.
Seriously, you are not missing out much. Bear this in mind, u are paid to go for paid classes that you need not pay. And you are out of office, stress free and a time to do some bonding with the rest. So you don’t miss out much.

WARNING:
I think I didn’t state out the consequences if you are caught not attending the class, your bonus will be affected and u will be marked and u will have to re-go for the classes again.

Guess many will be wondering, why then run when it ain’t exactly very necessary for me to skip those classes?
1. I am easily bored
2. I can use the time to go for trainings
3. I can self declare a half day and be paid and not having to use actual leave..
